The Junk Drawer

Junk Drawer

Kids’ hair elastics and barettes of all colors, with hair attached from the last removal
Keys, most of which don’t belong to any of the cars in the driveway or the locks on the doors…still worth keeping though
Wrappers from a hurried snack, no time to find the garbage
Receipts that must be kept safe, but are they really safe?
Bills to be paid, with assumptions attached that I will remind them when it is time to pay them
Paystubs to be filed, not part of my job description
Calculators, pens and pencils and even the odd screwdriver that hasn’t found it’s way back to the garage, besides there is always a time where they need a screwdriver at their fingertips quickly, might as well keep it in the junk drawer
Markers, in case the kids need a quick time filler during supper time
ID tags that are grabbed in the rush out the door,
Hubby’s wallet and blackberry, once again in my safe arms, might as well keep it in the junk drawer
Notepad for making lists
Mangled address books in case there are a few readable addresses that may be needed
Important mail that hasn’t had time to be tended to
Kids’ jewellery that may need to be thrown on them as they rush out to a party
Scissors in case a hang nail appears, you never know when that might happen
A mini hair brush for a bedhead on the way to work or school --- upstairs is too far to go, so they might as well keep it in the junk drawer
The junk drawer, you should have kept what you are looking for right now in the junk drawer!
